QuickBooks, GP & Legacy ERP to Business Central Migration

Outgrowing QuickBooks usually shows up as spreadsheets everywhere: inventory tracked off-system, manual job costing, a close that takes weeks. Moving to Business Central fixes that, if the data and processes move cleanly. That's the part we specialize in.

Is it time?

Signs you've outgrown your system

  • Inventory, lots or serial numbers live in spreadsheets

  • Month-end close takes more than 10 business days

  • You need multi-entity, multi-currency or real costing

  • Warehouse, manufacturing or project tracking happens outside the accounting system

  • Your system (Dynamics GP, NAV on-premises, a legacy ERP) is approaching end of support

Method

How we migrate

  1. Data assessment. What to bring (open items, balances, history depth) and what to leave behind.

  2. Cleanse & map. Customers, vendors, items, chart of accounts and dimensions redesigned, not copied.

  3. Test conversions. At least two full trial loads, reconciled to the old system.

  4. Parallel checks. Trial balance, AR/AP aging and inventory valuation tie-out.

  5. Cutover. Final load over a weekend, then your first close in Business Central with us beside you.

Systems we migrate from

QuickBooks Online and Desktop (including Enterprise), Microsoft Dynamics GP, Dynamics NAV (any version back to NAV 2009) and other legacy ERP and accounting systems.

Migration is usually part of a full Business Central implementation, and it's where most of the go-live risk sits. We plan it from day one rather than leaving it for the last month.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can I migrate my QuickBooks history into Business Central?

Usually we bring opening balances, open AR/AP and inventory, plus summarized history (often one to two years of general ledger by period). Full transaction history stays in an archived QuickBooks file for lookup.

How long does a QuickBooks to Business Central migration take?

Typically 8 to 16 weeks for finance plus inventory, longer with manufacturing or warehouse management.

Is Dynamics GP being retired?

Microsoft has published end-of-support dates for Dynamics GP, and most GP customers are planning their move to Business Central now. We'll walk you through the dates that apply to your version.

Do we have to redesign our chart of accounts?

Not necessarily, but migration is the cheapest moment to fix it. Business Central dimensions often replace dozens of QuickBooks classes and sub-accounts.
